How to Make a Resume in 5 Steps

Everything happens on this page — the form is on the left and the live preview is on the right.

  1. 1

    Choose a template

Filter by style, or switch on "ATS friendly only" if you are applying through an online portal. You can change template at any point — nothing you have typed is lost.

  2. 2

    Add your contact details

Name, professional title, email, phone, and city. Add a portfolio or LinkedIn URL if you have one. A photo is optional and best left off for most UK and US applications.

  3. 3

    Write your experience

Add a position for each role, most recent first. In the description box, put one achievement per line — each line becomes a bullet. Lead with a verb and include a number wherever you can.

  4. 4

Fill in education, skills, and projects

Type a skill and press Enter to add it as a tag. Hide any section you do not need with the eye icon, and drag sections into the order that flatters you most — freshers usually put education above experience.

  5. 5

    Check the preview and download

The preview on the right is exactly what exports. Read it once for typos, especially in your email and phone number, then download the A4 PDF.

What This Resume Maker Does For You

The formatting work that eats an evening in Word is handled for you, so you can spend the time on what your bullet points actually say.

No formatting work

No tab stops, no tables that break when you add a line, no photo jumping to page two. Type, and the layout arranges itself.

ATS-friendly options

Several templates are single-column with no side rails, which is what applicant tracking systems parse most reliably. They are labelled so you can tell at a glance.

Live preview

See the finished page as you type. What you preview is exactly what downloads — no surprises after the export.

Reorder and hide sections

Move education above experience, drop the projects section, hide languages. The resume follows your career rather than a fixed form.

Switch designs freely

Your details are kept separate from the design, so trying a different template is one click and never means retyping anything.

Private by default

Your details stay in your browser while you work. Nothing about your job history is published or sold.

Resume or Biodata — Which Do You Need?

They are different documents for different rooms. Send the wrong one and it shows.

Resume

For job applications. Employers want evidence you can do the work, so the page is dominated by experience, skills, and results. Personal details stay to a single contact line.

  • Name, professional title, and contact line
  • Short professional summary
  • Work experience with dated, measurable bullets
  • Education and certifications
  • Skills, tools, and languages
  • Projects or a portfolio link

Marriage biodata

Shared with families and matrimonial contacts. Family background matters as much as your own achievements, and the design is expected to look warm rather than corporate.

  • Name, date and place of birth, height
  • Religion, caste, and rashi where relevant
  • Education and current occupation
  • Father's and mother's names and occupations
  • Siblings and their marital status
  • Contact person and phone number
